We are proud of our ancestral roots, as we believe they are valuable not only for their colors, designs, and iconography but also for their functionality. The resistance in the fabrics that artisans achieve with embroidery techniques or looms is even more durable than industrial productions. In addition to seeking to rescue our country's traditions, we also bet on caring for our planet, reducing waste produced, recycling materials such as PET and cotton, and creating products that you won't have to discard for many years of adventures.

In 2021, we managed to share with you collections with great meaning and, above all, with great tradition. We used the knot stitch for the first time, an ancient technique used by Hidalgo communities to sew the seams of their huipiles. More than an ornament or something visual, it is a functional seam, designed to reinforce clothing. We also used Pima cotton for the first time, grown in Peru with the sustainability and care that gives it extra quality and softness. And, as the icing on the cake, we used these materials and techniques along with the Lifeproof technology we already had in our sweatshirts. To reduce the time you spend washing your clothes so you can focus on what really matters.

With the upcoming collections that you will find very soon, we also started using fill embroidery employed by the communities of Tenango de Doria, where they show us, through color, figures, and iconography, their way of life, their myths, their vision of the world. Tenangos are one of the most beautiful and recognized crafts in our country, and we are proud to show them to the world.

These achievements would not have been possible without the valuable guidance of the artisans, who had the patience and love to be excellent teachers for us in the world of craftsmanship. The products they weave with their hearts are meant to make you and your loved ones happy while allowing them to support their communities. That is the double impact that Someone Somewhere seeks to achieve, and it is what has led us to collaborate with a total of 18 communities in five states of the Republic. As of 2020, we managed to impact the lives of 250 artisans and 4 ethnic groups: Nahuatl, Otomi, Mazahua, Tzotzil. Each community contributes its ancestral traditions, so we have managed to integrate more than 5 artisanal techniques.

What fills us with the most pride is seeing how the craftswomen are increasingly encouraged to run their own workshops, how they support their families by doing what they enjoy most. 98% of the artisans we collaborate with are women, and each of them has seen growth not only in the orders they receive but also in the income they collectively earn from their work.
