Introducing the Women's Collection! Made by women, for women.

¡Te presentamos la colección Mujer! Hecho por mujeres, para mujeres.

It all starts with the artisans of Hueyapan, a municipality in northern Puebla, where 92% of the population is bilingual (speaking Spanish and Nahuatl) and 70% are skilled in artisanal practices. "In Mexico, certain artisanal techniques are repeated, but the 'puntas' and 'amarres,' which are the techniques being used for women's shirts, are only made in Hueyapan," Glo from the design team tells us.

“We wanted women to feel cherished. It's a very feminine silhouette, made so that women feel very free,” she continues. Textile crafts are intimately related to gender, as most of those dedicated to it are indigenous women. At Someone Somewhere, our mission is to empower women and contribute to fair trade, which is why 35 - 40% of each garment goes to the artisans, contributing to the growth of their community and personal economy.

“It’s a challenge because we always try to make a combination of our ideas and those of the artisans,” says Dani, from graphic design. “It’s not just about overlapping their ideas and ours, but about creating something together.” That’s why the artisans had co-design sessions with the Someone Somewhere team to arrive at the best design together.

This is Someone Somewhere's first collection for women; we are so excited to share it with you and support the artisans who made it possible.
