New Collection; Simultaneity

A new phase has arrived at Someone Somewhere, accompanied by new silhouettes, new artisan techniques and new designs. We present Simultaneidad; our new collection! Discover all the pieces here.

It is inspired by the 17th Parallel, an imaginary line that crosses the globe and touches three important cities: Mexico City (specifically La Merced), Cape Verde and Mumbai, places that create unique sensations and have very different rhythms of life.

To create Simultaneidad, we collaborated with 140 artisans, used 5 techniques and traveled to 7 communities; Naupan, Tlaxpa, Cuetzalan, Hueyapan, Oaxaca, Villa Victoria and Los Remedios. In total, we created more than 5,000 products.

The process to create this collection began with inspiration from the three key places we mentioned before. In Mexico City, for example, we were inspired by the "diableros", tireless workers of La Merced, and by the characteristic smells, flavors, and sounds of this market.

In Praia, Cape Verde, we were inspired by the fishermen who, after working, contemplate the beautiful blue color of the sea (that's why we have denim pieces that represent these sensations and emotions).
And finally, in Mumbai, India, the main inspiration was the festivity, the ecstasy of the city's color festivals and raves. What captivated our designers was the intensity of emotions, which they captured in fluorescent colors, like this incredible jacket.

Simultaneidad represents a significant change for Someone Somewhere, growth in the team, maturity in designs, the opening of more stores (you'll find out soon), and a lot of effort behind the project. With Simultaneidad, we want to reach more people to expand into more communities and impact the lives of many more artisans.
